Greenwich town centre could see BT ad display in busy area

BT have submitted plans for another advertising board in Greenwich town centre.

The area chosen is one that often sees high footfall in a tourist heavy area and close to a college and Post Office. It’s also close to Greenwich station. Their application shows a rare scene of empty paving space.

In recent months BT have applied to install a number of similar as boards in areas such as Woolwich town centre, Eltham as well as east Greenwich.

One such advertising display in east Greenwich was rejected by Greenwich owing to a location of high footfall on narrow paving near bus stops.

Lewisham Council rejected a board on Deptford High Street in October.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • ““F*** that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it.” – Banksy
