Major A2 roadworks causing long delays including around Bluewater

Roadworks this weekend on the A2 are causing long queues heading eastbound on the A2 alongside wider congestion in Kent.

Then tonight closures from Darenth to Bean Lane along the A2, will be in place from 8pm to 6am.

National Highways are undertaking work throughout the weekend which includes:

  • Closure of A2 coastbound entry slip road at Ebbsfleet
  • Three lanes closed on the A2 coastbound carriageway, with one lane open to traffic

They have a page focusing on work in the area which can be seen here.

Today’s queues have been seen in a wide area including Greenhithe and Swanscombe.

Closures continue next week.:

“From 6am on Monday 24 January through to 6am on Saturday 29 January, the A2 coastbound entry slip road at Ebbsfleet will be closed. In addition, one lane of the A2 coastbound carriageway will be closed between Bean and Pepperhill”

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
