Homes planned on Bexleyheath pub car park

An application has been made to build five flats behind the Lord Hill pub (formerly Coach House) in Bexleyheath.

The pub dates from the 1800s and is located near Bexley Council’s main offices on the former Woolwich Building Society HQ.

In some ways it’s welcome that plans to demolish the pub aren’t seen, and if it can ensure a future it could work.

If the pub appeals to those moving into 600 new homes opposite Cineworld then it’ll have a bright future.

One obvious danger is people move next to a pub before moaning about noise. Those residents really should be told to clear off but sadly are listened to.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
