Police incident closes A2 at Sun in the Sands
Police have closed the A2 at the Sun in the Sands roundabout alongside a stretch to Greenwich resulting in long delays this evening rush hour.
Blackwall Tunnel is being closed intermittently as traffic builds up.
Traffic is solid across Blackheath, Greenwich, Charlton and Woolwich.
Traffic is also extremely heavy back to Falconwood on the A2.

There much more disruption than that one closure, check Google maps. Is it because roads are closed to make explorations for the Silvertown tunnel? If not what on earth will it be like when 4 lanes are going into 2 along stretch before and after Sun in Sands roundabout. There needs to be a comeuppance for any Greenwich councillor who didn’t campaign against this tunnel.
This closure was due to an attempted suicide from the bridge onto the A2. The person was being talked to by specialist police when i cycled past. A very sad incident and hope it was resolved without any injuries.
It was closed for a very long time it took us over 4 hours to get home last night
