Police called to Thamesmead block party

Large numbers of police were sent to Newmarsh Road in Thamesmead last night due to a block party.

Dozens of people arrived in the area and were followed by a large number of police.

There are no reports of violence.

In recent days there have been clashes across London at a number of sites. Last night saw violence in Maida Vale.
