Residents evacuated at Greenwich block as Fire Brigade blocked by bad parking

An incident at a block of flats in Greenwich this afternoon saw the Fire Brigade hampered as they tried to access the area.

Around six fire engines were called to the scene and prevented from turning in places by poor parking. Cars appeared to be parked on a roundabout and at a turning circle.

This is at least the second time this has happened in the area. Social media frequently sees complaints about continual illegal and dangerous parking and a lack of response. This is about complaint number 20 from this account who state contacting the authority sees little to no action.

No injuries are reported but it’s a matter of time until delayed response times have serious consequences.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
