Fire hits rail bridge in Herne Hill

A fire has broken out on a rail bridge in the Herne Hill area disrupting Southeastern trains between Victoria and Bromley South. Thameslink also serve the line.

It’s reported that embers from the fire are falling into the road below. Hopefully the bridge is not structurally damaged.

TfL state: “A2214 Half Moon Lane is closed in both directions between Norwood Road & Herne Hill whilst LondonFire deal with what appears to be a track fire on the railway line that runs above the road. Traffic is stationary and queuing”.
