Armed police arrest men after Woolwich gunpoint robbery

Armed Police from the Met’s firearms division arrested suspects after an armed robbery of a man in Woolwich.

A member of the public reported the robbery to the police and nearby CCTV captured a group. Police closed in and found an imitation pistol.

Woolwich Riverside ward saw a big spike in weapon-enabled robberies last year though there are signs it has reduced since.

It would have been a different result in Bexleyheath as Bexley Council controversially stopped manning CCTV.

  • Great to know the CCTV in Woolwich is being monitored. Well done to Greenwich Council for their excellent CCTV, Also congratulations to the Met Police on a job well done.
