Armed police arrest men after Woolwich gunpoint robbery
Armed Police from the Met’s firearms division arrested suspects after an armed robbery of a man in Woolwich.
A member of the public reported the robbery to the police and nearby CCTV captured a group. Police closed in and found an imitation pistol.
Woolwich Riverside ward saw a big spike in weapon-enabled robberies last year though there are signs it has reduced since.
It would have been a different result in Bexleyheath as Bexley Council controversially stopped manning CCTV.
Great to know the CCTV in Woolwich is being monitored. Well done to Greenwich Council for their excellent CCTV, Also congratulations to the Met Police on a job well done.
