Man stabbed to death in Deptford

A man has been stabbed to death on Creek Road in Deptford close to Greenwich.

Video of the scene show police blocking traffic near student accommodation blocks on Creek Road and Deptford Church Street.

The incident happened at 11:45pm and the victim pronounced dead at 12:40am.

A number of assaults have occurred in the area in recent months. Another stabbing occurred very close to this incident on Creek Road on May 31st. A stabbing also occurred on Norman Road, Greenwich in June.

    It’s very dark around there, plus the empty ground floors mean little ambient light. I hope the landlord will address that as its not especially pleasant around there in the day let alone after dark.

      It’s actually a nice area. Yes there was a murder but you can’t say it isn’t pleasant .

        Oh don’t get me wrong the developments have really improved the area and its a far cry from the old days when elderly souls such as me wouldn’t dare wander past the comedy club. Unfortunately it’s still rather dark around there – even along the river at Greenwich where the fitness club resided there’s now a patch of darkness. The Creekside developments are necessary or Deptford would have remained the poor neighbour of Greenwich in perpetuity.

    its happining in every area now even high class areas like mayfair ,deptford is not a bad area,or greenwich creek rd

    I don’t know why fromthemurkydepths has turned into the ‘crime desk’. I would much prefer it if the focus returned to housing and development related matters.
