Services on Elizabeth line resume after fire

Photos from Network Rail have shown the effects of a fire which knocked out the Elizabeth line for much of Saturday as well as Great Western Railway services.

Burned cables are evident beside the track which will impact upon services on Sunday 6th September.

Severe impact from trackside fire

The fire hit near the Elizabeth line depot at Old Oak Common leaving trains in various places out of position across the network. The exact location was near Scrubs Lane in North Kensington.

TfL stated severe disruption yesterday for the Elizabeth line from Paddington to Abbey Wood though in effect it appears zero trains ran from around 5pm until end of service.

According to the London Fire Brigade 40 firefighters and six appliances went to the scene after fire broke out just after 4pm. It was under control by 8:36pm.

The cause is under investigation. Check travel websites before heading out.
