Woolwich market building sees cafe occupant Bob’s Your Uncle near opening

A structure built in Woolwich as part of a multi-million pound town centre project is set to welcome Bob’s Your Uncle coffee shop as its first occupant as fit-out work proceeds.

A sign is now evident in the window facing Beresford Square while inside a lot of work has been undertaken on fitting out the site.

On the way

The building was part of a project that saw the adjacent Beresford Square altered with landscaping and a fountain installed. Powis Street also saw changes as part of the last government’s Future High Streets programme.

Bob’s Your Uncle coffee have another branch in Eltham as well as Croydon.

As well as coffee they serve a brunch menu in Eltham.

  • It will be nice to see tbe buildings occupied. I wish tbe new occupants every success with there new BobsYouf Uncle Coffee Shop business..
Sadly despite the multi million pound refit. The area is still blighted with rubbish and the anti social behaviour with the drinkers etc hanging around on the walls by the fountains and on the seating.
I thought Wookwich had a no street drinking policy. If they have then it is not being actioned. The Town Centre needs to be much better managed to keep the area nice and well maintained..

    • It’s being left to rot already, in spite of the PR earlier this week about their fancy new street cleaner, there’s no sign of it actually being used. The grime is just disgusting. The worst bit is the rubbish bins on Powis St which are falling apart already (and after the design flaw with cigarette butts).

  • I agree after all the work completed. The Council do not keep it maintained along with the public realm. Which is a shame as it does look nice.

  • I wish the new cafe every success. I am sure once opened it will be popular with locals and people visiting Woolwich. .
