Heavy traffic through Greenwich borough along A2 after M25 accident

There’s heavier than normal traffic heading southbound and away from the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels due to an accident on the M25.

Miles of queues have built up heading from Kent back to Essex after part-closure due to the incident as Junction 1B in Dartford, ensuring more drivers are diverting to crossings to the west of Dartford within London.

Silvertown tunnel hasn’t done much to alleviate southbound afternoon queues through Greenwich borough along the A2 and A102 as it is, so more traffic heading that way adds to the normal slow moving jams.

In addition this incident could see more people attempt to use the Woolwich ferry, which isn’t good news for traffic in Woolwich with major works underway around the Plumstead gyratory and queues backing up daily to Woolwich as it is.

Hopefully things don’t get as bad as last week. Keep an eye out and if you can avoid Woolwich roads it’d be wise to do so.
