Potential light show over Greenwich tonight

Up to 500 drones could put on a light show tonight over the skies of Greenwich.

An air traffic control warning has been issued for the event which is not a particularly publicised event.

It’s possibly for filming given just how many films, tv shows and ads are filmed around the Old Naval College area.

Look up

The notification covers an area around the pier and Thames.

It’s issued for between midnight until 11pm on Wednesday. Keep an eye out. I may pop along to take some photos time permitting.

Information on events like this can be found on the NOTAMS website here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

    • Photos would be lovely, John. These old bones need their sleep, so no late nights for me.

    • Has there been any more info on this? I can’t see anything on social media thought it may not have gone ahead last night due to heavy rain?
