Greenwich towers begin making a mark

New towers rising in Greenwich are beginning to make a mark as work on hundreds of homes continue.

The site beside St Mary Magdalene school is ever more evident in the surrounding area as concrete cores rise.

Blocks viewed from park.

In total 476 homes will be located in a number of buildings with the tallest reaching 30 floors in height.

Despite being someway short of that currently it can be seen from near the o2 to the north and on a bus from east Greenwich.

Second tallest block’s core around floor 12

Still, some way to go with the second tallest block around floor 12 and the tallest some way behind.

The first residents are expected to move in during 2026.

L&Q took control of the project from developer Knight Dragon who previously submitted plans which didn’t proceed.

Plot 19.05 (red buildings on right) now underway. Future massing seen next door

In terms of other plots on the peninsula, Knight Dragon’s plot to the north now appears to be making progress above ground.

Elsewhere two further plots at Greenwich Millennium Village have seen workers on site – as expected and covered four weeks ago on this site.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
