New drone footage released this week shows the current state of play with various developments underway across Kidbrooke.
Berkeley Homes have released the promotional video as work starts on their Central Gardens site just south of Peglar Square.
Central Gardens is set to see residents move in from 20205. It also shows work well advanced at four blocks above a podium at Phase 5 which is due to see occupants from 2024.
Work on Central Gardens is the final part of Phase 3 which includes the main square beside Kidbrooke station.
Don’t read too much into phases. Work is still yet to begin in areas of Phase 2 while Phase 5 is well underway.
Three sites are also evident in the video with smaller blocks in Phase 2 visible.
Waterlily Court is the name given to blocks in Phase 5 which is set to see people move in from spring next year.
Another block which isn’t shown can be seen below. It’s not evident as Berkeley are not marketing this block –
That been covered before here. It’s not far off completion and nor is another major site which is visible but not highlighted.
That’s TfL’s plot to the north of the station which will contain 619 homes when complete. It was recently covered here showing how it’s shaping up.
A new bus interchange is coming beside the eastbound platform.
Also visible are Greenwich Council’s new homes as part of the Greenwich Builds project.
Greenwich Council recently released a timelapse video of that project.
Of Berkeley sites, work on Central Gardens and other other sites leaves only Phase 6 to be built.
Will we see an increase in total homes at this site compared to previously agreed numbers as seen at many other previous phases?
The Kidbrooke Village Development and other local developments including new council homes are now moving at pace. With many nearing completion or construction started and underway. This is excellent news. However, being in ULEZ what we need to see now is more public transport infrastructure. More buses and trains along with new amenities. So residents can also access services locally.
Waterlilly court looks exactly the same as when I visited at the end of March! And I thought the development south of pegler square would already be taller since it started quite a few months ago.
