Greenwich to Woolwich cycle scheme consultation underway

Transport for London have launched a consultation seeking feedback on changes to streets running between Greenwich and Woolwich.

A segregated cycle lane was installed in 2021 along most of Trafalgar Road and Woolwich Road leading to Charlton where it stops and a bus lane was installed.

In summer 2022 alterations were made, which this consultation covers. They included bus stops being reintroduced. A full list can be seen here.

A number of new housing developments lay along the route, including at the former Speedy Hire site.

Before the pandemic Cycle Highway 4 was due to extend from Tower Bridge to Woolwich ferry. Extensive plans were drawn up which now seem on hold.

The consultation will run for six months, and can be viewed here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
