Greenwich pub looks set to reopen

A pub in Greenwich which closed in 2022 looks set to reopen under new management.

The Vanbrugh near Maze Hill station has seen a sign placed up in its window advertising new management.

Credit to Tom Stanworth on twitter for noticing and putting up a Tteet. For all the awfulness of much social media, this is where it’s great; noticing changes and publicising them.

As the sign says, those who’ve taken over the pub are connected to The Jolly Gardeners in Vauxhall.

This is the second pub to reopen recently in the town, with the Star of Greenwich reopening recently. I popped over to take a look back in April.

When The Vanbrugh opens it may well be worth heading over for a drink or three.

It is after all just a short stroll from Maze Hill station on Colomb Street. And many bus routes nearby through east Greenwich.

The pub is set to reopen in July and is looking for independent beer and wine suppliers. Note it down.

  • That’s great news. Too many pubs in this area have closed recently. Good luck to the new venture.
