New Crayford town centre flats rising

A development bringing homes to Crayford town centre is now well underway.

Shops will also be located within the site, with renders submitted at the planning application stage showing the design.

The application was approved in December 2019.

Crayford has seen it’s former High Street shrivel into a shell of its former self as vast retail sheds and a gyratory fragmented the centre.

Then add in changing behaviour due to online shopping and it not a happy picture.

This development could perhaps go someway to help, with new homes bringing new custom to shops and commercial space lining both side of the building.

However if Crayford is ever to become a thriving centre again, radical changes would be needed.
