Blackwall Tunnel closed: Queues quickly building

The northbound Blackwall tunnel has been closed this afternoon which has seen northbound queues quickly building.

Traffic is backing up to east Greenwich along the a102.

The Woolwich ferry remains closed as it has been for some time.

UPDATE: the tunnel has just reopened but sizable queues remain.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

    • Traffic in the area was a night mare and I was unable to get to the retail park in Charlton due to the queues of traffic due to the issues with the Blackwall Tunnel and the amount of people out shopping. It was definitely an area to avoid yesterday. .
