The event will run from 5pm to 9pm.
Opening hours for the market are:
- Monday to Wednesday: 9am to 4pm
- Thursday: 9am to 1pm
- Friday and Saturday: 9am to 4.30pm
- Sunday 19th December only: 9am to 3pm
It’s a shame not one late night opening is planned for people at work.
However a separate event will be held on General Gordon Square on Friday 19th December.
Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

Just read that greenwich had a 68% increase on last week’s covid figures, and omicron is doubling every 2 days. Guess this market is an initiative to keep the top spot.
Yes, best avoided. The Germans were much smarter on this one: https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/german-states-cancel-christmas-markets-2021-b1962104.html?amp
Obviously, it’s to support the local economy; as with the “economy over lives” approach of UK Govt.
Whatever your view on that, you can guarantee it’ll be an incredible rip-off. A chance to enjoy an “authentic recreation” of Weimar Republic hyperinflation on foodstuffs maybe.
‘A chance to enjoy an “authentic recreation” of Weimar Republic hyperinflation …’. 😂 My wheelbarrow is otherwise employed.
It came from the German derivation of Christmas markets, and how London version may soon need to implement a ‘payment by instalments’ scheme on oversized pretzels.
It’s good you have a wheel barrow; it’ll come in handy considering where the current situation is heading …
