Watch: Timelapse video of major Erith development

Here’s something I discovered on YouTube by chance showing the construction of a large development which hasn’t seen a great deal of coverage. The video shows development of Park East in Erith which is the rebranded name of Arthur Street estate and towers which were recently demolished.

Wates Residential and Orbit Housing Association secured permission for the development of 320 homes in 2019. Demolition of the former estate of 263 homes centred around flattening a tower and low rise homes surrounding the block.

The new development doesn’t reach the same height though is of greater density. The site is opposite Erith Park which saw an estate of similar age redeveloped throughout the 2010s.

Arthur Street – or Park East – is due to complete in 2022.
