Stabbed man dies: Plumstead High Street closed

Plumstead High Street has been closed this morning after a man was stabbed in Belvedere after 6am this morning (21 August).

It is believe a man was stabbed on Heron Hill and then transferred to Plumstead where an air ambulance crew was to transport the victim. He sadly died.

Buses are diverted and not serving the area from Plumstead Corner past the Texaco petrol station on the High Street.

Police state:

“Police were called to Heron Hill Road at 06.18hrs on Friday, 21 August by London Ambulance Service to a report of a man with stab injuries.

Officers attended. A man was found seriously injured.

The man was transported a short distance by ambulance to Plumstead High Street, where paramedics from the air ambulance treated him. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died shortly after 07.00hrs.

A crime scene has been put in place. Enquiries are ongoing to trace his next of kin.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting reference CAD 1425/21Aug”
