Police seek man after Welling knife-point robbery

Police have issued CCTV stills after a robbery in Welling saw a female staff member have a knife pulled.

According to police: “The suspect entered the arcade in Upper Wickham Lane in Welling, DA16, on the morning of Wednesday, 31 July.

At around 10.00hrs, after spending around half an hour on a gambling machine, he approached and grabbed the woman working at the shop from behind and pulled a knife on her, demanding that she open the safe in the back office.

She complied, and he made off around £2,000 in cash. It is believed that he left the scene in a maroon-coloured Mercedes car.

The man being sought by police is described as a white male believed to be in his late 30s, and of slim build. He was wearing a green hoodie, black jeans and dark trainers. He spoke in broken English, and may be eastern European.

If you recognise the man or have any information that may assist the investigation, call 101 quoting CAD 2148/31JUL19. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
