Double stabbing in Plumstead

Waverley Crescent in Plumstead was tapped off by police last night after a doublestabbing.

The road was blocked at the junction with Griffin Road to Durham Rise. Two victims were found though neither is in a life threatening condition.

It’s been a bad day in the borough, with this incident around the same time as a double stabbing which saw a suspect tasered near the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

The number of stop and searches have increased substantially in recent months due to public pressure from some quarters, and while worrying incidents are regularly seen, London’s murder rate is still below most of the 1990s and 2000s despite a recent increase.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
