Passengers rescued after hours stuck on trains

The entire Thameslink network in central London was brought to a halt this evening as overhead wires came down causing passengers to be trapped on trains for hours.

Eventually people were led down tunnels to exit.

As the network is now more closely linked to Southeastern this impacts upon south east London to a greater degree with all trains on the Greenwich line are cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Other knock on effects include a lack of space at Blackfriars for Southeastern trains to terminate and diversion in place.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
