There were delays tonight on the Greenwich line as power had to be cut in the area around London Bridge and Cannon Street.

I went online to see what the cause was and saw this:

I’ve seen plenty of excuses over the years. This one is new to me.

By the way, power has now been restored and services on the move.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • My favourite ecuse was when a mate’s train was cancelled from Tunbridge Wells “because the driver has forgotten his sunglasses.”

  • OT What is the significance of the big numbers on the columns at Cannon Street station, seen in your picture?

    • They hold up the office building above the station
