Fire Brigade called to flats in Woolwich

A number of fire engines have been called to a block of flats in General Gordon Square in Woolwich town centre.

According to a resident the heating system has caught light and there is no central alarm system.

Fire engines from as far away as Poplar are on scene and the area sealed off. The fire appears to now be out.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
