Meantime brewery in Greenwich set for facelift

Meantime brewery in Greenwich is set to see an eye catching new façade if plans are approved.

The site on Blackwall Lane contains a brewery, shop and bar yet isn’t the most attractive right now.

It’s an austere looking structure and the brewery wants to change it.

Plans see new signage, lighting and logos across the shop/bar area as well as the brewery building.

Proposal

The company formerly operated two which closed leaving the taproom here.

The Old Brewery was on the Naval College site and sold to Young’s. Then the Greenwich Union was vacated with Young’s taking it on and increasing the size of their Richard I pub on Royal Hill.

Those closures followed the company’s sale to multi-national SABMillar in 2015 before being taken over by Asahi in 2016.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
