Serious flooding hits Lee Green

A large area of Lee has been flooded this morning after a water main burst.

Six homes are impacted with road closures on the A20 Eltham Road from the junction at Leegate shopping centre to near Sutcliffe Park in Kidbrooke.

Bus routes 122, 178 and 321 are on diversion.

London Fire Brigade has seen flooding outside their own Lee Green station, and state that “ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to flooding on Meadowcourt Road in Blackheath and Eltham Road.”

“There are currently no reports of any injuries.”

By the way I had to chuckle at the News Shopper’s coverage today. As it’s on Eltham Road they seem to think it’s actually Eltham. Last week Lee was mistaken for Lewisham.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Goodness the news shopper are beyond hopeless. They’ve spammed their site with six stories about this and every single one gets the location wrong.
