Southeastern train fails between Lewisham and London Bridge

Southeastern are warning of delays this rush hour after a train broke down between Lewisham and London Bridge.

This scenario highlights dangers of upcoming cuts to services planned from December with some substantial evening peak gaps in services proposed.

Trains are being cancelled this afternoon. With gaps of 20 minutes – for example – planned for the evening rush hour from December through Greenwich from London Bridge to give just one example, any cancellations due to disruption will cause substantial gaps to become even worse in coming months.

It’s the same on the Kidbrooke line, as tonight’s issue ensures a 30 minute gap in services with currently reduced services. From December services reduce further.

The break down follows issues at St Johns station earlier this afternoon where a passenger fell ill.

MPs have been meeting with Southeastern today to discuss changes.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
