  • Hi so my understanding all of the streets will be in parking payment. I feel sorry for those small businesses. Or the clubs that run for young and old people at the churches. They won’t be able to attend as not many are not able to travel bus or walk.

  • I used to be a regular at a few shops in Lewisham. Then they started changing the roads to no car access. So easy to turn down the road without noticing the new the signage.

Avoid it like the plague now. Whole place feels like a trap. I did write to the council saying it’s going to devastate the local businesses. But deaf ears. I’m sure some will say it’s better for the local environment, and I’m sure you’re right. But what about the business owners? They can’t all sell lightweight goods.

    • Highly likely any loss from a handful of car drivers not stopping there will be more than offset by more foot traffic from cleaner, safer streets that people actually want to be on. See the business support for Oxford Street changes.

Honestly in a city like London and a borough with such good transport like Lewisham, any onstreet parking should be expensive and discouraged. It’s public realm and much better if people on foot, with wheelchairs and buggies are prioritised over cars.

I am disappointed to see that my road has been excluded from the Lee Green CPZ. I guess commuters who use nearby Lee Station and others who live in flats on Burnt Ash Road, will continue to park for free all day at the expense of actual residents, health visitors, contractors and delivery drivers.

  • I know this is an old post but I live in Brockley. Does anyone have ANY update on the CPZs as nothing has been implemented in our area. So disappointing: it was approved last summer.
