Large-scale disturbances reported in Erith

Police have utilised increased powers due to what they describe as “large scale disturbances” across Erith.

Earlier today it was reported a car hit a pupil outside a school at 4:20pm in what is believed to be a deliberate act. Pupils are being offered support.

Police state problems spread from an area near Erith school with “reports of males fighting at multiple locations in the surrounding area”

Erith school is now known as King Henry School.

Reports include youths chasing other youths with weapons.

A section 35 dispersal order which permits dispersal powers has been enacted until 5pm on 22 January.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • The MET will be telling Bexley Council to cordon off Erith.

  • Just gets worse and worse day by day. We need more Police on the streets. We need a zero tolerance policy and much tougher. Sentences.

With serious crimes being fast tracked through the Court systems so cases can be heard sooner.
