More than 1,000 volunteers now helping the vulnerable across Greenwich borough

There are now over 1,000 people helping volunteer across Greenwich borough after creation of a Community Hob by Greenwich Council.

The hub carries out crucial roles such as 

  • collecting & delivering prescriptions
  • delivering essential food packages
  • connecting residents to local community services

They are still seeking more people to help and if you are interested, click here to find out more. You can also request help via the link.

This has been a very impressive elements of the council’s work in recent weeks and hats off to all who have contributed.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

    Thank you so very much to our Emergency Services staff, NHS staff, Carers and Home Carers, Armed Forces, Supermarket and Shop Workers, Benefit Processing Staff making sure people benefits are paid, Refuse Collectors, Front Line Council staff and all key workers doing their bit out there to help and support people in these very hard and difficult times, .

    It really does mean a lot to us all.

  • I totally Graham. I have nothing but the up most respect for all our Key Workers and volunteers out there working during the coronavirus crisis and 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.

    Where would we be with out them !!. There are not enough words to thank them for all they do day in and day out.

    Just amazing people each and every one of them.
