Liam Gallagher announces free o2 Greenwich show for NHS staff
Liam Gallagher will play the o2 this October in a free show for NHS staff.
The concert will be on 29th October and limited to two tickets per person. According to the o2:
“This is an event to thank all NHS staff who have been working tirelessly to keep us safe.
Tickets are limited to 2 per person (the eligible NHS staff member and one guest) and will be available from 9am on Wednesday 15 April 2020.
Only NHS staff and NHS contract staff who work in NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom will be eligible to apply for tickets.
Ticket holders must bring their valid NHS ID or Primary Care Trust ID card (original format, no photocopies) to the event, or details of employment if NHS contract staff. Your NHS ID must match the name on your ticket or admission will be refused. If you are allocated more than one ticket, your guest must be with you at the time of entry.
If you secure tickets and you no longer able to attend or you secure tickets in error as you are not NHS staff, please contact the ticket provider immediately to arrange for cancellation of these tickets to enable other NHS staff the opportunity to be allocated tickets.”
Who?
Nobody of importance but someone desperate enough to take a deal to kick-start attendance at the venue. For better or worse I suspect that large enclosed venues such as cinemas or the O2 may see see a reluctance by people to attend. Having half of Oasis or one of the Beautiful South offer free concerts gets a little publicity for the singer and some attendees for the venue.
Too few famous people ready to put their hands in their pockets to help (you couldn’t get enough of them for the Australia bushfire) but all willing to send patronising messages from their comfortable homes

Agreed Charles. Celebrities could do a lot more to help raise funds for NHS staff. Half of those sending messages of support on the TV looked like there were reading from a script written for them.
I am also fed up of seeing so called celebrity Doctors on the TV.as presenters. If employed by the NHS they should be in there GP Surgeries or Hospital helping and suppoerting staff on the front line. That must be their priority.
