Elections for London Mayor pushed back one year

The London Mayoral election has been pushed back one year from this May.

Just this morning Mayor Sadiq Khan was announcing his future policies before the Electoral Commission recommended a delay. Elections for London Assembly members are also delayed.

It’s not yet known what this means for the local by-election in Greenwich borough at Glyndon Ward after former councillor Tonia Ashikodi was convicted of fraud. According to guidance that election will need a court order or act of parliament to stop. That election is pencilled in for Thursday 9th April.
