Former Greenwich pub building now comprising restaurant for sale
A Greenwich bar and restaurant on Trafalgar Road is currently being listed for sale for £3.5 million.
The former King William IV pub is now the Queen du Vietnam bar and restaurant, and includes 22 hotel rooms. The restaurant opened last year and seems to garner good review.
Given the loss of many Greenwich pubs in recent years it’s a concern as to whether any buyer would have eyes on demolition.
This is one site to keep an eye on.
I wish Queen du Vietnam was still there, they were a really great Vietnamese restaurant. It got taken over by someone else and the quality dropped significantly. Never tasted such watered down Pho soup before. Such a shame. ☹️
Sadly I can see this building being demolished and completely redeveloped as we have seen happen elsewhere in Greenwich.
However, It may be possible that the new owner may wish to refurbished the existing building with the 22 hotel rooms converted in to luxury flats dependent on the lay out of the property.
It may also have the possibility of converting the hotel bedrooms in to a house of multiple occupation with en suite bedrooms for students or young professionals.
With a new pub restaurant or commercial space on the ground floor. level.
It will be intresting to see what does become of this building on Trafalgar Road
it was converted for the olympics but never paid off .. east greenwich got basically nothing out of the olympics part form a new playground

I agree Greenwich did not do as well out of the 2012 olympics as we are lead to believe. East Greenwich was and is still largely ignored when it comes to improvements and investment which is a shame. As it close to Greenwich Town Centre with alot of passing footfall for local businesses.
With so many new hotels now being built in the Borough I feel this dvelopment would be better converted to residential use. If the original building maintained possibly a new business taking over the commercial space.
It will be a shame to see this building demolished but fear this could happen as we have seen elsewhere in Greenwich which I mentioned in my earlier post.
