Man stabbed near Surrey Quays station
A man in his 20s has been stabbed this evening (Sun 1st Dec) on Lower Road in Rotherhithe.
The incident occurred near Wetherspoons and Surrey Quays stations. The Met state:
“Police were called at 19:12hrs on Sunday, 1 December to Lower Road, Rotherhithe following reports of a stabbing. A man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital; his injuries were not life-threatening. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
Yet more violence on the streets of London. What is the matter with these stupid people. These incidents are totally unnecessary and uncalled. It is violence for violence sake.
Half of the youths hanging around the streets at all times of the day and night have been signed of with Anxiety and Depression by their GP’s.
What is needed is compulsory Youth Training Schemes re-introduced where 18 to 24 year old’s have to attend training courses on a full time basis for up to 2 years 5 days a week to learn new skills like cooking, carpentry, bricklaying, plastering, electrical installation, roofing, business administration, Care work and also how to be Self Employed etc. I would like to see these schemes also introduced for older people aged 24 plus wanting to learn a new skill.
We need our youths to build a future for themselves and not be bullied in to things by others. After all they are our future too !!
Totally agree there is nothing for our youths to do but hang around the streets. We also need more youth centres for our youths to attend in the evenings and at the weekends. Which are properly supervised by vetted staff and with a strict no alcohol or drugs policy.
There is so much more to life out there for our youngsters to get involved with. Play sports as always has been being a good one to get involved in.
Totally agree. Education is a key. These days life to some is worthless, back in the days police was patrolling the streets and if anyone was out and about after 7pm was booked in/ arrested if there was no good reason for them of being there.
Hope someone will help out all this young confused people.
