Greenwich Peninsula dispersal zone after “increase in ASB and crime”

Police have implemented a dispersal order this afternoon after an “increase in ASB (anti-social behaviour) and crime” at Greenwich Peninsula.

The Met state that the measure will be “starting at 3PM Thursday 17th October, ending 3PM Saturday 19th October. Authorized under Anti-social Behavior, Crime and Policing Act 2014 – Part 3.

  • The disabled gate is pretty much always open so if you don’t want to pay it’s easy enough. Tfl must be losing a bomb on the DLR now they’ve taken the Southeastern approach to far revenue. Trains are so busy in the peaks almost no chance of being checked and then every other station is open.

  • I am glad the Met Police have put in the place the dispersal order for 48 hours 17th to 19th October.

This kind of anti social behaviour and crime is so unncessary and uncalled for and all they do is just spoils things for others and stop other people from going about their lives peacefully.

    • Very much so. I’m surprised that it wasn’t put in place sooner: since IKEA opened there’s been an uptick in a number of no-goods from across the river drawn to the place (along with the local no-goods hanging around the O2). There’s a lot of bored under-20s who need places to congregate – preferably on the cheap – and I’m hoping that the Burger King opening up by the cinema doesn’t signal that Peninsula Park is now some kind of low-rent strip-mall to hang out of an evening.

  • I agree Charles you are thinking along the same lines as myself and Graham. This is a real concern. I was pleased to learn the Met had introduced the 48 hour dispersal order from 17th to 19th October in this area.

Perhaps curfew times should be introduced if this kind of anti social behaviour continues. Certainly something that should be considered for the future. I also find this kind of behaviour totally unacceptable. Why should decent law abiding people constantly have their lives distrupred by totally unncessary anti social behavior.

  • Just to add to my comment above that we have also seen an increase of anti social behaviour in and around the Eltham High Street area over the last few months. So sadly these incidents are now happening far to often,
