Two found dead near Stratford station

Two people have been found dead near London Overground tracks between Stratford and Hackney Wick.

The first incident occurred around 1am last night. The two bodies were discovered a fair way apart from one another according to British Transport Police with the second discovered around 02:30.

People were also reportedly evacuated from Westfield this morning. It’s not yet known if that is related.

DCI Tim Tubbs from British Transport Police stated: “An investigation is now underway to discover what happened and how these two people came to lose their lives on the railway.

“At this time we are treating their deaths as unexplained as we make a number of urgent enquiries. I would ask anyone who was near Stratford or Hackney Wick last night, and saw something which they think might be relevant to contact us as soon as possible.”
