More homes planned for Deptford Creek at Sun Wharf

Detailed plans for 233 homes at Sun Wharf in Deptford from Peabody and Bellway have been submitted to Lewisham Council.

CrossWhatfields has an extremely comprehensive post looking at affordable housing, transport, daylight impacts and much more. Click here to read.

It’s not worth me duplicating the excellent research seen there, so I’ll just add this is yet another block in an area that has seen vast growth (and will continue to do so) as almost the entirety of Deptford Creek becomes lined with high density housing.

Yellow detailing. Sun Wharf. Geddit?

In terms of design Bellway appear to have realised just how dull their adjacent development at Kent Wharf is (and just how many boxes are in the area) and so have opted against a flat roof. Not much else complimentary to say really.

Just last month plans for Ravernsbourne Wharf were revealed opposite the Essential Living block now almost complete:

A 30-floor tower beside the Laban Centre was submitted to Lewisham Council last September which was heavily criticised by the GLA.

Towards Deptford Bridge DLR is Fairview’s block:

Another plot is Saxon’s Wharf which saw plans approved by Greenwich Council at the end of January:

And a bit further away is Convoy’s Wharf which will eventually see at least 3,000 homes. Initial stages are now being submitted and consulted on.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
