Bus service reductions confirmed on route 486 serving North Greenwich, Ikea & QE Hospital

Queues on approach to north Greenwich station after road changes this week

Details of reductions to bus route 486 have now been confirmed with changes due to commence from 23rd February.

The biggest reduction will be Saturday daytime when service frequency reduces from every 8 minutes to every 12 – a reduction from 7-8 buses per hour to 5.

Weekday services reduce from every 8 minutes to every 10 with two additional morning peak journeys.

Sundays reduce from every 12 minutes to every 15 – the same as evenings.

The bus serves North Greenwich tube station, new builds on the Peninsula, Ikea and Charlton retail parks before heading through Charlton to Queen Elizabeth hospital and then Welling and Bexleyheath.

A number of other bus services in north Greenwich have seen frequency chipped away including the 161 to Eltham and 472 to Thamesmead.
