Southeastern train evacuated after smoke seen

A Southeastern train at Lee station was sseen with smoke emanating from a carriage this morning.

Passengers report being evacuated and the fire brigade arriving.

The train appears to be a Networker which are around 25 years old.

After emergency services arrived en masse the train departed without any serious damage.

Not only smoke, but a strong smell of burning oil. Good to hear that the train was able to move off, but it’s yet more examples of the ongoing problems with the South Eastern stock.
