Woolwich riverside towers rise ever more
After looking at Woolwich’s newest estate yesterday we today head over to the Thames to look at the latest with Berkeley Homes riverside towers.
Two out of three blocks now appear to be complete.
The tallest block of this stage has yet to complete, as can be seen above. This is closest to the Waterfront leisure centre, which itself will be demolished and replaced with towers after 2020.
Piling work has also now commenced on more towers which will be located on the former car park of Waterfront:
The new park above is named Maribor Park to commemorate links between the Slovenian city and Woolwich.

Will we see complete demolition and a new tower or simply internal refit?

When will we get the cycle path back? I hate the corner at the leisure centre end, when ever I go running there is always a near miss with a cyclist that takes the corner too deeply and encroaches on the footpath.
That said the Warspite Road, “missing link” part of the Thames Path is almost up and running, will make the Sunday morning run a bit more interesting.
I can see the cycle path being disrupted for years. It’ll be 2-3 years for towers on the former car park then work is expected to begin on the Waterfront itself.
I’m looking forward to the new link opening and getting some pics and writing up a new post.
Every one is Waiting for the new link to open every time I go down there there are fences up still every one has to turn round and go back home
It’s frustrating as every one I have spoke keeps asking when will the new link be open
Is everything being done for the link I read it was going to be in 2 phases first the warspite road bit, then another link from Bowater Road on to the Thames Flood Barrier.
