Taser drawn on armed man with knife at Dartford station

A man was arrested at Dartford station today after he was seen on a platform with a large knife.

In similar circumstances to an incident last week at Tulse Hill station, police raced to the scene and drew a taser but on this occasion it was not used.

The British Transport Police have put out a statement:

“Shortly before 12.45pm today (January 18) officers from British Transport Police and Kent Police were called to Dartford station after reports of a man in possession of a large knife.

“Police officers were quickly on scene and detained a man on the platforms at the station.

During the arrest a Taser device was drawn but not deployed.

Anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 231 of 18/01/2019.

This incident is not currently believed to be terror-related.”
