Garage conversion to cafe plan by Plumstead station submitted

Plans have been submitted to convert three garages into a cafe/sandwich bar near Plumstead station.

It appears to be an extension of Cafe Deluxe which currently operate on the site.

Shutters would be replaced on existing garages with double doors on the centre garage space with glazing applied to garages either side.

It appears a good use of the site and will capture commuters passing to and from the station.

At least 1,800 new homes are planned nearby in coming years and the surrounding streets and public space are in line for a £2.5 million upgrade.

The site is to the rear of Paddy Power. Incoming plans to limit Fixed odds betting Terminal stakes to £2 could see some betting shops close on the high street.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Looking back at some of the older postings on this excellent site. .I think the extension of the Cafe Deluxe in to the garages would be an excellent use of this space. The new doors and windows that will replace the current shutters will give the building a smarter appearance from the street. As already mentioned it will be ideally situated for commuters using Plumstead Station as well has local residents and businesses.
