69 more flats and Lidl planned at Belvedere development beside Starbucks, Morgan pub and Travelodge

Plans have been submitted for another block of flats at the Belvedere Park development by Yarnton Way.

These plans take the total number of homes to nearly 500 on the site, which is around a five minute walk from Belvedere station.

An increasing number of businesses has opened over time, with The Morgan pub being one of the first, then a Travelodge hotel. A Starbucks followed, and Lidl have also applied to open a store.

The block will top out a six floors.

Bexley Council have plans for thousands more homes in the area plus an outlet shopping centre in their recently published Growth Strategy.

Belvedere station has seen growth from 733k passengers a year in 2012/13 to 1.037m in 2016/17, yet it’s one of the few stations where Thameslink does not stop on the line. Will that change as more homes open?

The planning reference is 18/02135/OUTM

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
