London Mayor calls in schemes for 1000+ homes rejected in Greenwich

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has called in two applications recently rejected by Greenwich’s Planning Board.

The two schemes – Charlton Riverside and Eynsham Drive at Abbey Wood – comprise 771 homes in Charlton and 272 at Abbey Wood.

Sadiq Khan will now make the decision for approval or rejection.

Local people in Charlton had launched a vociferous campaign against the proposal on industrial land and complained that the scheme deviated from the recently adopted Charlton Masterplan, which cost £854,000 to draw up.

Last week this site revealed that £154,000 was spent drawing up a smaller masterplan in Woolwich two years ago that was scrapped before adoption.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
