Woman murdered and man found with stab wounds in Woolwich

Police have revealed details of a murder on Elmdene Road in Woolwich. Alongside the death of a a woman in her 70s another man was found with multiple stab wounds and is in critical condition.

Police believe the victims knew each other and are treating it as domestic incident.

The incident is reminiscent of an incident in Greenwich last week.

Despite the apparent high number of murders in London, homicides are actually a substantial level below most of the 90s and 2000s.
