Riverside housing development rising at Thames Street in Greenwich

Another riverside development in Greenwich town centre has broken ground. This block is named “Thames Street” and is a development by London and Quadrant (L&Q).

It replaces a 1980s block that was recently demolished.

It’s taken almost three years to get to this stage after being approved in April 2015.

The block will top out at 10-storeys.

The rear of the block can be seen below:

The use of materials on upper floors will make or break the building. Are they concrete panels?

Just around the corner is the old Thames pub. Just about hanging in there.

More photos will be uploaded to my Flick page here.

I hope you enjoy reading the site. I do it all myself and any donations you can give to help with finding time and costs would be a great help. You can donate here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Thames pub is doomed unfortunately. Appeal inspector agreed with its demolition.
