A new look at housing developments around Greenwich and Deptford

As part of the semi-regular round-up of what’s going on with new builds around Greenwich and Deptford comes this new instalment. These pics were taken the same weekend the fantastic Greenwich and Docklands Festival was in town.

Work continues on Essential Living’s tower beside Deptford Creek:

A 30-storey tower is proposed beside this site. It’s currently vacant and the plan was covered here last month.

Further along Creekside is Kent Wharf. The low rise section is now revealed:

Heading further south we reach the Cockpit Arts site. Again, the shorter part of the development is now devoid of plastic sheeting:

Over on the Peninsula we can see Enderby Wharf, River Gardens and Precision all well underway. This is the final block of Enderby Stage One I believe. Stage Two will see towers and a cruise terminal.

Here’s a close-up of Precision. This is being built on half of Siemen’s car park, directly next to Enderby Wharf which is just seen to the left:

And here’s River Gardens. The final two blocks are rising:

Despite all these developments TfL’s current bus consultation shows a reduction in buses on some nearby streets. The reasoning is that many more will travel to Woolwich Crossrail rather than North Greenwich tube station from the east. However an annual Woolwich ticket (at 2017 prices) will be £1892 (Zone 1-4) versus £1320 from North Greenwich (Zone 1-2).

I’ll add more pics to my Flickr account which is here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
